Dirty Vegan loves watercress

When we sent Welsh daredevil and all round good guy Matthew Pritchard some fantastic fresh watercress, he was so keen to sign up as a Watercress Ambassador that he started tweeting about it straight away!

Matt, or ‘Pritch’ as he is commonly known as to his friends, is a well-known stuntman and skateboarder who regularly appeared in the shows Dirty Sanchez, Wrecked, and Balls of Steel. After competing in several ultra-distance triathlons, he converted to veganism after noticing that many other ultra-distance competitors followed plant-based diets. He also credits the documentary Cowspiracy as being instrumental in his conversion, as well as his innate love of animals.

In 2018 Matt starred in a documentary called ‘Wild Man to Iron Man’, focusing on his journey from a hedonistic, drug-taking prankster to an ultra-fit vegan athlete, with the show documenting his gruelling ultra-triathlon challenge consisting of a 30 mile swim, 250 mile cycle, and 196 mile run.

Hoping to inspire others on the journey towards veganism and raise awareness, Matt hosted the first ever 100% vegan cookery show Dirty Vegan in 2019, which takes a light-hearted look at vegan cookery and aims to introduce people from all walks of life to plant-based food.

After receiving a few shipments of watercress, it’s safe to say that chef Matt is a big fan of the Super Salad. He’s already turned out a nutritious soup as well as a vibrant, delicious pesto, so here’s hoping we’ll see some watercress in the next series of Dirty Vegan!
