How do you store watercress?

Storing watercress varies slightly depending on how you’ve bought it, but ultimately the fridge is king.

If you buy a bag, like this…

You should store your watercress in the fridge and consume within a couple of days. Not sure how to get through the bag so quickly? We have lots of watercress recipes that can help you use up every last sprig.

If you buy our fresh, plastic-free bunches…

You should keep your watercress bunches stood in a glass of water in the fridge for maximum freshness! The clue is in the name, watercress thrives in fresh water. Not to be confused with garden cress (read about the difference between watercress and cress) which grows in soil. Your stems will love soaking up all the goodness from the water and will last that little bit longer.

Did you know you can freeze it too?

Just remember watercress is cool; if you let it get too warm it will begin to wilt, and no one wants soft salad!
