Get the date in the diary nice and early and give friends, family, colleagues and neighbours lots of notice You can use our specially designed invitations (available from the download section) or create your own.

Don’t worry if you can’t hold your event on 4th June, we will continue to accept donations until the 30th September 2007.

Spread the word about The Big Green Lunch

Download the email footer text from the download section and tell everyone you email about The Big Green Lunch.

If you’re holding a lunch at work or for the community, you might like to print off some posters to get more people to come along. Posters are available from the download section of the website.

If people can’t attend your lunch, get them to organise one of their own, perhaps on a different date.

Use our template press release and guidelines to make a splash in your local media.

Raise Money

Don’t be afraid to ask your guests to donate – after all you’re putting in the work to get your friends together and create a great meal.

Use the Gift Aid form (available from the download section).This means that UK tax payers can increase their donation by 28p for every £1 at no extra cost to them.

Consider raising some additional funds. Here are some suggestions but we’d love to hear your ideas so let us know and we can share them with everyone else and raise lots of money for Lynn’s Bowel Cancer Campaign.

Continue the green theme and ask everyone to wear something green and make an additional donation.

Hold an auction. Guests could bring unwanted items of value or you could auction promises.

Get the brain cells working with a quiz. You will find a selection of general knowledge questions in the download section.
